REQUIREMENTS:

We require the services of an IT Security Architect to undertake the technical functions necessary to ensure timely procurement of security products for various initiatives of one of our major client in the Ottawa region. The scope of work involves all activities required to pursue, to successful conclusion, the procurement of the various security capabilities. The engineer is to provide technical support services that may include, but are not limited to the following:

Technical and engineering activities or tasks related to the identification and development of specifications of the technical solution for the security devices. This may also involve technical activities for the deployment and integration of the technical solution/system into our client activities and preparation for integration into the organisation, including physical integration, and functional integration into the enterprise. This shall include, but not limited to:

a. Liaison with stakeholders to ensure system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability;
b. Analysis of interface standards and integration requirements for internal and external interfaces;
c. Attendance at design, technical and management reviews or meetings in order to monitor and advise on progress and potential problems;
d. Develop, review and provide recommendations on technical requirements including Basic Architectural Requirements:

i. Management;
ii. Scalability;
iii. Alert Capabilities;
iv. Logging; and
v. Reporting.

e. Develop, review and provide recommendations on Test Plans and Test Scripts including:

i. Test Plans and Test Scripts
ii. Test Environment;
iii. Test Descriptions; and
iv. Scoring.

f. Develop, review and comment on technical documentation for all system configurations;
g. Development of the Statement of Work for each of the security devices identified at Para 1.2 including the establishment of specifications, and the identification of deliverables;
h. Development and review of technical evaluation plans including evaluation standards and schedules;
i. Provide guidance and input as a subject matter expert in the technical evaluation of proposals;
j. Review and report on suitability of Contractor produced documentation delivered; and,
k. Configuration management activities.

Required Academic Background

• College technical degree in an related field
  
  OR
  
  Bachelor degree in a related field;
  
  
• Minimum of sixty (60) months of demonstrated experience in an applicable engineering field.

Additional requirements for the IT Security Architect position:

a. Certifications:

• CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional)
• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
• The candidate shall have a minimum of 48 months demonstrated experience utilizing each of the following programs: MS Word and MS Excel.
  
  

b. The candidate will need to demonstrate his experience with at least three (3) of the following elements: Network Security, Vulnerability Assessment, PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), TRA (Threat Risk Assessment, Security Policy, Cryptography, Business Continuity Planning, Project Management, Physical Security, Applications Security and Systems Integration.
